Farage Flagship Store, CBD, Sydney
Australia’s leading bespoke tailoring brand launches its flagship store within Sydney’s iconic No.5 Martin Place.
The comprehensive street level refurbishment of the landmarked building comes just over a century after opening as Commonwealth Bank’s headquarters. Showcasing a unique combination of original heritage grandeur with ultra-modern lighting features, the Greg Natale-designed men’s and womenswear store seamlessly executes luxe aplomb with commercial functionality, befitting the brand’s clean-cut sophistication and the site’s provenance.
Beneath a vaulted high ceiling, a slick palette of grey unifies the space – from glacial marble floor tiles to anchoring marbled stone monoliths merchandising accessories. Custom-designed cigar-hued Walnut joinery including shelving units, racking and built-in cabinets bound by taut ribbons of Florentine bronze line the store’s periphery. Combined with free-standing wood and glass display plinths, they add a warm, masculine assurance.
Exuding luxury with every glint, the impressive original bronze entry doors usher a gilded theme within. Soaring Ionic columns and the ceiling coffers are flecked with gold paint, whilst cabinets are adorned with brass rods of brass. Within the row of Walnut-clad styling suites lining the boutique’s rear, sheets of smoked bronze leather confidently shimmer from within.
