The client required an update of an expansive ageing commercial building foyer. The key objectives were to conceal existing finishes, hide services, manage foot traffic and entice more desirable businesses to the premises.
Solid steel signage frames the building’s entrance hinting at the industrial strength palette of the lofty and expansive 8m high entrance foyer beyond a revolving door with weighty assurance.
Inside, the modernist hues of the concrete, stone and steel elements are colour-blocked with bursts of verdant green foliage. Key design features include vertically panelled American Oak screens and intricately laid slate walls that, combined, slot together like a geometrical jigsaw panel with exacting proportions. These natural elements enlivened by ample light entering through the glass façade create the ambience of a tropical rainforest.
